Key Five: Forgiveness

spiritual

The concept of Forgiveness is a rather “touchy” topic for many people. Our egos get the most of us attempting to control the situation and the need to be right no matter what.

“I was done wrong”, “You are going to suffer; I will never forgive you for what you have done”, Or what about, “I will forgive you but I will not forget”.

This last statement particularly is a judgment, which is still connected to the act of unforgiveness.

I define unforgiveness as the inability of the mind or ego to let go, a spiritual poison that creates sickness eating at the inside of us.

Funny thing is that the only one who really and truly suffers because of this is ourselves!
It is said that forgiveness is one of the cornerstones to health and wellness. I feel that it is essential for spiritual wellness.

“Holding onto unforgiveness against someone is like drinking poison in hope that the other person gets sick” ~ Anonymous

Interestingly forgiveness liberates people, creating an opportunity to change the direction in your life and create more wellness all around.

Are you someone who holds onto things like grudges and grievances? Not for a day or so, but forever? You might say “No, not I”. Yet our strong denial maybe an indicator that we do just that!

And did you know that we all carry unconscious “unforgiveness baggage with us energetically?” These are the issues that have occurred, that when they occurred they were not dealt with…..life happens, time goes by, and the next thing we know 20 or 30 or 40 or more years have gone by and these unresolved issues have been buried in our energy field or space or have gone “unconscious”.

What about how hard each of us are on ourselves? If we are good at forgiving others, are we as generous with forgiving ourselves? Do you beat yourself up when you make mistakes?

I am here to remind you that there are no mistakes, just opportunities for growth and learning.

The greatest gift that each of us can give others and ourselves this holiday season and any other time of the year is the the gift of Self-Forgiveness.

????????

Sometimes our ego needs to beat someone up and it chooses ourselves to do so.
These are the hidden or unconscious things that contribute to both our physical and spiritual wellness or the lack of wellness.

Now you are probably wondering, this really is not me…..or just maybe you are open to work on this key to bring more physical and spiritual wellness in your life!

Did you know that there are three aspects to forgiveness?

1.     Forgiving others.                                                                                                                                             Everything someone else has done to you….you have also done this to them as well, whether or not you think so.

2.   Asking forgiveness of others.                                                                                                                                     Since you have done this very act to others as well…you ask forgiveness of other for the very act that was done to you by them.

3.   Most importantly, forgiving ourselves.                                                                                                                   We are so very difficult on ourselves….We physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually beat ourselves up…..It is no wonder why we have issues with our self- worth, self-respect, and self-love.

Since we beat ourselves up randomly, on purpose or unconsciously, it is important to forgive ourselves for the very act that was done to us by others that we have done to others, for that very act we have done to ourselves as well.

  • Here are some mini keys to create more well-being through forgiveness
 Reflect on where you might have gone unconscious in your life regarding unresolved issues of forgiveness.
 Realize every situation in life is an opportunity for forgiveness and greater health and spiritual wellness.
 Be kind to yourself. You are loved more than you know.
